Moira from Birkenhead

Albany based choir, Pohutukawa Singers, is looking forward to giving its first post-lockdown concert this month. There are two performances.

The first is an evening concert at 7.30pm on Friday 21 August at the Albany Presbyterian Church, 539, Albany Highway (opposite Albany Senior High).

The second is an afternoon performance at 4.00pm on Sunday 23 August at St Chad's Church, 7 Matua Road, Huapai/Kumeu

The programme will include a variety of musical genres and song styles, mainly from the 20th century but with a few from much earlier times. We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in coming to either of these performances for a varied programme of song. Post-concert refreshments are included in the ticket price. Pre sales $15 per adult or door sales $20. Accompanied children - gold coin donation. Email - carrieturner4nz@gmail.com or phone Geoff 478 1601 or 021 1706590

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
