Free online English Language classes for Permanent residents and NZ citizens

English Language Partners is holding a series of short online courses to help you improve your English communication skills.

Kiwi Speak: Communicating the Kiwi way. Improve listening and speaking skills, learn new words and phrases and improve confidence.
Level: High beginners- Intermediate.
Starts Tuesday, 12 May, 9:30-11:00am for 8 weeks.

Grammar in the real world: Explore grammatical aspects of English as used by Kiwis. The focus will be on spoken English, looking at verb tenses, structures and functions.
Level: Intermediate-upper intermediate.
Starts Monday, 11 May, 5:30-7:00pm for 8 weeks.

Real Life English: Speaking, listening and writing in a real-life context. Focus on Kiwi expressions and idioms.
Level: Upper intermediate-advanced.
Starts Tuesday, 12 May, and held Tuesday and Friday 2-3pm for 6 weeks.

Reading and Writing for Academic Skills: Focus on reading and writing for academic study. Designed to prepare you for further study in English.
Level: Upper intermediate-advanced.
Starts Wednesday, 13 May, 6-8pm for 8 weeks.

Workplace English: Improve workplace communication through practicing job interview skill, Speaking to customers, clients, workmates, and managers.
Level: Upper intermediate-advanced
Starts Wednesday, 6 May 7pm and held Wednesday and Thursdays 7-8pm

All classes are run through Zoom and can be accessed using your laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

Attendees will be expected to do some work outside of class times

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
