State Highway 1 blocked by serious truck crash
A truck driver has been injured after crashing into a bank on State Highway 1 in North Canterbury.
The highway is blocked after the crash happened about 10 kilometres north of Cheviot at 8.15am on Tuesday.
A St John spokesman said the driver, understood to be a man, had been seriously injured and a rescue helicopter has been dispatched.
The NZ Transport Agency advised motorists to expect delays and follow the instructions of emergency services on site.
