Levels of harmful algae in Canterbury rivers worsening
Longer, hotter summers are creating more instances of potentially toxic algae in Canterbury rivers, authorities say.
Health warnings remain in place for the Ashley/Rakahuri River, near the Rangiora-Loburn bridge and for a short stretch of the Waimakariri River where the Otukaikino water mixes into the Waimakariri, near the State Highway 1 and Main North Rd bridges.
