Ex-Christchurch tram could return to work after decades as holiday home
A vintage tramcar that has spent more than 60 years off the tracks could soon be making a comeback to the streets of Christchurch.
Tram 194 had been owned by the family of the late Leo and Jessie Holland since 1957 and was used as a holiday home.
It will now be kept on display as a holiday bach at Ferrymead Heritage Park until enough funds have been raised to restore it to working order.
