Hey people, do you realize these poor little animals suffer horrible deaths especially now its getting so cold at night. Couldn't you possibly take them to Cats Protection League??? We try to catch those that are past hope and feed, the tame ones till we can get them to a vet. We breed pedigree cats and again have to deal the problem of these poor sick unwanted kittens spreading viruses to our cats. We wonder what goes on in the heads of people who either wont desex their house moggies or cant be bothered correctly disposing of resultant kittens. Shame on you.!!

The 4000 bales of rubbish at a site on Spencerville Rd, owned by Renew Energy Ltd (REL) and ERP Group Ltd, are destined for a yet-to-be-built waste-to-energy plant in Belfast.

REL also intends to store up to 10 times as much waste at a site on Blakes Rd,in Belfast, for five years while it builds the South Island's first waste-to-energy plant. Its consent application is currently on hold while more detail is sought by ECan.

Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey says residents are concerned about the proximity of the site to houses, a large aquifer and a stream, a cemetery, and a meatworks. Read more: here
