Bearded Irises, potted, named. Rock bottom prices
We are just on the brink of the bearded iris flowering season and already the dwarfs are coming into flower.
I have some nice potted plants ready to go at $8 each. They are named
Pictured are some of the Tall bearded Irises. I will list the Dwarfs and medians separately.
Bearded iris are so easy to grow with their spectacular flowering spikes.
They like about 5 hours sun day and are quite drought tolerant. They die down to small leaves in the winter, then come away again at this time of the year.
Unusually they like their rhizomes sitting on top of the soil where they can sunbathe. Are frost hardy.
These iris are acclimatised to Wairarapa conditions so should transplant well.
Any fertiliser that Roses like, irises like, but they are not fussy.
Pictured below are the flowers of the ones I have available. The potted ones may or may not flower this year. None are in flower at the moment.
Prices range from $8 to $10.
Thanks for looking.
Pickup is in Kuripuni.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
