"‘Fair Shot’ by Finn Anderson Budd - An Unplugged Masterpiece

Phil from Eastbourne

"‘Fair Shot’ doesn’t pull its punches — a bold, raw, and straight-talking entry from Finn Anderson Budd, a Year 7 student at Muritai School.
The song brims with youthful energy and sharp honesty, showing how even the youngest voices can carry real weight and impact.
Eastbourne Unplugged is about exactly this — celebrating local creativity in all its forms. Every entry goes into the running for $500 (with $200 donated to a charity of the winner’s choice) and the chance to have your song performed, promoted, and heard far beyond the Bays.
Enjoy Finn’s track? Share this link with your friends and family — the more people who hear these songs, the more support our local talent receives. And if you’ve got words of your own, get them in before entries close. Your lyrics could be next."

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Want the details? The Post has you covered.
