Ukulele Lunchtime Concert, Wednesday 17th September, 12.15

Chris from Lynmouth - Moturoa

The lunchtime concert, next Wednesday 17th September at the Methodist Centre features "Taranaki Ukestra". This is made up of various Ukulele groups to form a large Ukulele orchestra combined with bass, percussion and vocals. The Taranaki Ukestra brings great songs, arrangements and harmonies and the joy of large group playing and singing. From a tribute to the Beach Boys, a "silly love song", a percussive ukulele banger, an Elizabethan instrumental, songs from the Eurythmics, Crowded House and more. This has been a vey popular concert in previous years - you will love it. Koha for local charities appreciated.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
