MAJORITY OF LOCAL CANDIDATES OPPOSE SAND MINING
Forty-one candidates in this year’s Whangārei District Council local elections were asked whether they support or oppose marine sand mining in Te Akau Bream Bay, and why.
The responses provided are as follows:
35 Candidates OPPOSE the mining of marine sand
1 Candidates NEUTRAL RESPONSE to the mining of marine sand
5 Candidates NO RESPONSE
