Neighbours, with already sodden soils and impacts left from last week, the Tasman, Nelson and western Marlborough regions should make sure their drains are clear, avoid low lying areas, and drive cautiously ⚠️ Heavy rain is on the way!

Where?: Tasman and Nelson Districts southeast of Motueka, and Marlborough (north of the Wairau River)
Period: 15 hours, from 6:00am Thursday 3 July to 9:00pm Thursday 3 July
(note, further rain or showers expected on Friday).

Where?: Tasman District, northwest of Motueka
Period: 15 hours, from 3:00am Thursday 3 July to 6:00pm Thursday 3 July
(note, further rain or showers expected for the remainder of Thursday and Friday).

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
