Boil Notice for Kinloch

Darren Petry from Taupō District Council

UPDATE 3.45pm Thursday 3 April
⚠️ Boil water notice remains in place for Kinloch and Whakaroa ⚠️
The Kinloch water treatment plant's chlorine dosing system is now back up and running and we are refilling the reservoir with treated water. Over the next couple of days you will see our teams out and about opening hydrants and flushing the network.
We are asking Kinloch and Whakaroa residents to continue to boil water until we have completed the flushing and our testing programme has confirmed treatment levels are where they should be.
Thanks for your patience.

⚠️ Boil water notice for Kinloch ⚠️
We are asking Kinloch and Whakaroa residents to boil all water for human consumption (drinking, cooking, brushing teeth etc.) until further notice.
An issue at the water treatment plant means our chlorine dosing system has not been functioning correctly.
We will be flushing the network and carrying out a sampling programme. We’ll keep you updated.
Please note: No treatment is required for other things like washing clothes or taking a bath or shower.
Thanks for your help.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
