The people fabricating the pieces for the bridge are in Napier's Eastbridge factory - and they know the devastation Cyclone Gabrielle caused.
“It’s pretty hard in the Hawke’s Bay to talk to someone who doesn’t know someone who has been seriously affected," general manager Jayden Mellsop said.
The aim is to have the bridge pieces ready for installation by October.
