My Resene Upcycling Award entry
Hi, I am Teresa and have been dabbling with different paint mediums for about 3 years. This manikin, I covered with gladwrap then used layers of gesso and chalk paint under and over the doilies for stiffness. Yellow paint over all. Then added plastic flowers, jewellery, buttons, etc, layers of chalk paint, undercoat and top coat, finishing up with pearl beads. I used a manikin found at a 2nd hand shop for the mould. Doilies and all the jewellery etc from 2nd hand shops, garage sales etc.
Resene test pots - energy yellow with white and pearl shimmer for the yellow. Strike master with Special effect Sugar and Spice for pink. Anise, for green and a blue one (paint covering name), and Special effects Gold dust.
It can sit on the manikin or taken off and hung.
I hope you like it.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
