Something I love about Pyes Pa...
We love in a semi rural area and the bird life is astonishing. Through the year we have kereru, pheasants, quail, colourful parrots, fantail, tui, Canadian geese, the occasional falcon, blackbirds, thrushes, etc etc. A smorgasbord that was only surpassed when I heard a 'morepork' and went outside to see him fly up near me and sit on our basket ball board. There he/she and I looked at each other for a few minutes while I 'called' the morepork cry. I then quietly dashed in to get my camera to get a photo which the obliging Chap allowed me to do. The flash would not work so you have a poor example of what I saw, but it remains an amazing memory to me. After another 10 minutes it noiselessly flew away.
That is what I love about Pyes Pa. And the neighbours are great, also.
