Wandering dogs
Yesterday (Saturday 4/12) two dogs came onto our well fenced property on Pukenui Road and attacked or chooks. One dog is a large, bulky white pit bull type with no collar. The other is a big, black lean rotty type with very pointy ears and a white chest flash. Not sure about a collar. Council Dog Control tried hard but couldn’t catch them. You're allowed to shoot them on your property. Very bad news for kiwi in the bush behind us.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
