My Resene Colour Your Community nomination

Vicki from Nukuhau

I would like to nominate Active Arts Taupo for the Resene Colour your Community prize. Active Arts Taupo is on 5 Redoubt St and easily seen from Tongariro Street as you enter town from the North. It is a non profit arts organization offering an environment for enthusiastic artists in a creative space to express themselves through a variety of art mediums where New Members are Welcome. It would be great to give the building some colour and vibe so it looks like an inviting place for people to go and be creative and get good fellowship at the same time. We are very fortunate to have this building where locals can go and be creative with clay, paints and mixed media, and also have a gallery where the art created can be displayed and sold - encouraging people to do more! We are fortunate to have wonderful potters who offer evening classes and daytime sessions for getting together and doing your own thing. The painters get together on Tuesdays from 10am to 3 pm and Thursday afternoons 1pm - 3pm. Mixed Media group meet on Mondays. There is always something happening for the community to get involved with. It would be wonderful to give the building a facelift with the help of new paint. We have many hands that will help apply the paint!

Poll: Does the building consent process need to change?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

We definitely need homes that are fit to live in but there are often frustrations when it comes to getting consent to modify your own home.
Do you think changes need made to the current process for building consent? Share your thoughts below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.

Lest we forget...

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
