Free food, free shuttle, free jab, anyone?
If you've been putting off the Covid jab, there are lots of reasons to bite the bullet on Saturday, October 16. There's just enough time to get both jabs before seeing the rellies at Christmas if you get the first one now. Clinics at Redwoodtown School and Westwood Business Park will run 9am to 4pm, and at MySpace Marlborough Youth Trust 10am to 3pm, with a barbecue 11am to 1pm. And St John is running a free shuttle all day - just phone 0800 333 781 before 3.30pm on Friday. Click the 'Read More' link to see how your suburb's vaccination rate is looking.
Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Old Grubber handle
SharpAs Tool Tips
Another great tool from yesteryear. While the quality steel in a grubber will last indefinitely with proper care, the handles eventually wear out. With a new handle fitted and the steel refurbished, this grubber is now set to give many more years of service.
If you have old or new tools to restore — chisels, drills, utensils, knives, or other items needing sharpening or reconditioning — come and see me:
🔹 Redwood Market – Saturdays
🔹 Marlborough Farmers’ Market – Sundays
Or contact me directly on 027 444 5535.
Cheers,
Ron
