Walking dogs in the heat of the day
Hi all. While driving into town at lunchtime today, in 28 deg, I was horrified to see people out walking their dogs.
Please leave the poor creatures at home in the cool.
Take them for a walk either early morning or later in the evening when it's much cooler.
Take YOUR shoes off and see how far YOU can walk; I can guarantee you won't get far.
One poor dog (black at that) was trying desperately to get shade under a hedge but his owner just 'yanked' him out to carry on.
What???
Come on people, think about it...

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
