Woodend community's 10-month wait for promised traffic lights
Traffic lights to improve school safety in Woodend will not go ahead this year – a move the local MP is calling a backtrack on a promise.
While a Woodend Bypass is not in the immediate plans, in March the NZ Transport Agency promised to improve safety on SH1 with traffic lights this year, replacing a patrolled “kea crossing”. That appears more likely to be early next year now.
