Open Day and Fees-Free for Students
Take a look at what NorthTec has to offer at our Open Day – 12PM-2PM Thursday 2 July. Join us on our Raumanga, Whangarei campus or stream online via our Facebook page.
Many of NorthTec’s programmes are now being offered fees-free in 2020. Staff from the academic areas will be on hand to discuss study programmes available in semester two, which gets under way in July.
Around one third of all NorthTec programmes will be fees-free, under the Government’s new Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund.
New fees-free programmes include training in civil engineering and architectural technology; agriculture, horticulture, pest operations and forestry; health and wellbeing; commercial transport; construction, carpentry and painting; electrical and mechanical engineering; exercise, and sustainable primary production.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
