Easter greetings and updates from SWDC

What great news it is that New Zealand is doing so well battling COVID-19. With the numbers of new cases dropping over the past few days, we’re apparently tracking along with the most optimistic of scenarios. It’s important that we stick at it and continue to stay home to save lives, so keep up the good work!
Below is a summary of key updates from Council this week:
• Good news for those who receive the kerbside recycling service - collections will recommence next week. Due to the public holiday on Monday, urban collections move to a day later than normal: Greytown will be Wednesday, Martinborough Thursday and Featherston Friday. No change to coastal collections, which will be Monday as normal. More information on our website.
• On another positive note, water restrictions have now been lifted for Greytown and Featherston. Hand-held watering restrictions are still in place for Martinborough, just until we have a little more rain.
• You may be aware that Council has been working on its Annual Plan for next year. Due to COVID-19, we have had to delay this slightly. However, we will be ready for the consultation process to start on 24 April 2020. If you would like to know more about the consultation process, visit our website.
