Just a reminder for all those who have kids and haven’t heard yet, that places like the school playground and local playgrounds are off limits during the lockdown. Please ensure your children stay off them during what I know will be a tough time for everyone so that we can stop the spread now and get out of this sooner rather than later.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
