Love Letters by A R Gurney

Rachel Norman from Limelight Theatre Company

Limelight Theatre Co is proud to present the Pulitzer Prize nominated play “Love Letters” by A.J. Gurney, which tells the story of the romantic attachment between two Americans, Andrew and Melissa, from their childhood schooldays and for the next fifty years of their lives.
The story is told through the letters and postcards that they exchanged throughout that period. Both were born into wealth and position. Andrew is from a close family that live the American dream. Melissa, on the other hand, is from a somewhat dysfunctional family. Their bond with each other, however, remains strong and they ultimately become involved in a brief affair together. But it was all too late. Andrew’s last letter eloquently expresses how much they meant to each other. Though physically apart, they were spiritually as close as only true lovers can be.

Over the season this will be performed by several "couples" which will provide a different experience each night. Danny Clenott, Yvonne Way, Lilla Csorgo, Ashley Rogers and Barbara Barr are the cast.

To be performed in the newly refurbished black box theatre facilities of the Carterton Events Centre.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Want the details? The Post has you covered.
