⚠️White Island/Whakaari Eruption
Whakatāne District Council are aware of an eruption at White Island/Whakaari.
In response the lead agency is The New Zealand Police working with Bay of Plenty Civil Defense.
Please advise that Muriwai Drive is now closed - avoid the area for emergency vehicles.
We will share further details as they come to hand.
