Safety warning for trampers
Ahead of peak-tramping season, Police are urging hikers to not underestimate the "hostile" forest and mountains of Waikato.
This comes after a Waikato man, understood to be scouring the Pirongia Forest for a "rock structure", lost his life.
People are urged to plan their hikes carefully, carry equipment that would help them survive the night, and to not underestimate the length of time it takes to get from one place to another.
Lest we forget...
On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
