LIVE STEAM NIGHT AT STEAM SCENE McLEANS ISLAND
Saturday 28th September, from 6 pm, there will be rides on the big steam train, and the small trains through the trees. Also traction engine rides. All rides $2 per person for each ride. The steam museum will be open as well where you will see some vintage steam engines working. The model railway will also be working. A great night for the family to do something different. Bring a picnic tea and have a fun night. There will be some great photo opportunities.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
