Construction ramps up on new Ōpaoa Bridge
Beam placement and deck construction is underway on the new Ōpaoa Bridge project. Up until now, work on the new bridge has had little effect on road users, but this will change as construction ramps up.
Work on retaining walls and pavement from the new bridge to Dodson Street will soon begin, along with roading works to tie new pavement to the existing pavement.
Please keep in mind that traffic management and speed restrictions will be in place during this time and although two lanes of traffic will mostly be maintained, some activities will require traffic control.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
