After a years-long “David versus Goliath” battle between wealthy bach owners and local skaters, Tairua’s million dollar skate-park is finally open.

With state of the art facilities and skating bowl, the estimated $1.12 million development centred in the popular holiday destination was opened on Monday, looking to fill a generational hole in the town with a recreational space for youth.
