Tax refund may be coming your way as IRD rolls out automatic tax assessments
More than 2.5 million New Zealanders will receive their first ever automatic tax assessment over the next two months, with the first wave going out today, Inland Revenue (IRD) has announced. From today, May 20, through to the end of July, Inland Revenue will let salary and wage earners know if they have a refund owing, a bill to pay or neither, IRD said in a statement. Deputy Commissioner Sharon Thompson said the refunds will be going out in batches rather than all at the same time.
