South Canterbury fire stations set to improve
Big changes are ahead for fire stations at Peel Forest and Timaru as Fire and Emergency New Zealand seeks to improve facilities in South Canterbury.
In Peel Forest, near Geraldine, Fenz is seeking a land change with the Timaru District Council so it can build a new station alongside the old one that is about four times the size of the current building, while in Timaru there are plans for six figure "major" alterations at the main fire station to alleviate severely overcrowded office space.
