BREAKING NEWS: Mass shooting at Christchurch mosque, many feared hit

Brian from New Lynn

Parts of central Christchurch are in lockdown after it is believed at least one gunman opened fire at a mosque in the city. Eyewitnesses said as many as 15 people may been hit at the mosque, the Masjid Al Noor mosque on Deans Ave. There is also a report of another shooting at mosque on Aldwins Rd in Linwood. More victims, including children, arrive at hospital following Christchurch mosque shooting. Multiple people have been seen arriving on stretchers at Christchurch Hospital.
Some reports say an automatic weapon was used and there were many shots fired. An eyewitness told that he saw the gunman come into the mosque and he saw people injured on the floor, including two women.
He said there was lots of blood on the floor. Police have put in cordons shutting down areas of the city, and schools in the area are in lockdown.
