Wainuiomata Shared Path Shuttles
Due to increased construction on Stage Two of the Wainuiomata Shared Path the decision was made in February by Hutt City Council and Downer to close the Wainuiomata Hill Shared Path to pedestrians and cyclists from the Pukeatua Bridge to Wainuiomata.
Low uptake of our shuttle bus service has resulted in a new timetable which will be in place from Wednesday 13 March.
New shuttle times:
8.00 am – from Wainuiomata
8.15 am – from Gracefield
8.30 am – from Wainuiomata
8.45 am – from Gracefield
3.00pm – from Wainuiomata
3.15pm – from Gracefield
3.30pm – from Wainuiomata
3.45pm – from Gracefield
Bicycles will also no longer be able to be put on the shuttle. This is because very few bikes have used this additional service in the past month.
Please note the shared path is open at the weekends and before 6am and after 4pm Monday to Friday.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
