Help with buying prescription glasses
If you are on a low income or benefit you may be able to get help with the cost of the eye examination and glasses.
You need to contact your local Ministry of Social Development (MSD) office first before seeing one of the approved optometrists in your area.
Once approved, you will be given a payment card and have 21 days to spend the money before it expires.
You then book in for an eye examination and you will be advised what you need.
There is a variety of frames to choose from within a selected range.
If you need more specialised lenses that are outside those approved by MSD then you will be given a quote to take back to MSD for approval.
Here at Glen Eden Optometrist we have been approved by MSD so if you have any questions feel free to contact us on 818-4452.
