Peter Hewett from New Plymouth Branch, New Zealand Society of Genealogists

Writing the story that your family history research has discovered is an important part of genealogy work for many people. At our March meeting, David Hill will talk about writing in general and about writing a life story.


David Hill is a well known New Zealand author and journalist. He has received writing awards in NZ, Germany, Australia, the UK and USA. His books have been translated into French, German, Danish, Dutch, Chinese, Slovenian, Japanese and Korean.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
