Hurunui District Council keeps commitment to communities following 2016 quake

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Northern Outlook

From Hurunui mayor Winton Dalley: Twelve months ago we were reflecting on the year that followed the violent November 2016 Hurunui/Kaikōura earthquake, the recovery that had already been accomplished during that year, and what was being planned for the coming year to restore the destroyed homes, farm buildings, public and private infrastructure and the severely damaged land.

We now look back on the second year of recovery, its ups and downs, the great stuff, and the not so great stuff experienced throughout that time, but we acknowledge there has been a massive collective effort to assist our affected communities back to a good level of normality.
