Petition agains High Density Housing in Parua Bay

Marnie from Parua Bay / Whangarei Heads

For local Whangarei Heads residents opposed to high density housing in Parua Bay, come and sign a petition that instead proposes sustainable, planned housing that preserves the character of the Whangarei Heads area. The petition will be at the Parua Bay Farmers Market on Sunday, 4th November from 2-4 PM at the Parua Bay Community Centre. If you can't make it, but would like to sign the petition, there are forms at the New Day Cafe in the village. Make your voice heard to the WDC!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
