Today's Dunedin Police update

The Team Reporter from Dunedin News

1. A brazen beer burglar has been warned not to drink the experimental booze. Three 24-packs of beers were stolen from a loading dock on Rattray St Dunedin, between 24-27 of August. "The irony of this is that the beer, whoever has taken it, was being tested – and that beer should not be consumed by anybody," Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson said. "The consumption of it might be detrimental to their health." Read more

2. In Dunedin's student quarter a brazen burglar removed a PlayStation 4 from an unlocked Harbour Tce flat on August 18, between 2-4pm.

3. Over the weekend a person has entered a secured compound at the Green Island Transfer Station, taking a pallet of car batteries, Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson said.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
