The Waitomo District Council is gifting $1.5 million to the above.
Bruce Maunsell, project co-ordinator, has stated this cost ratepayers around $50 pa to service the loan (i.e. the loan the WDC takes out to cover the gift), the loan also will need to be repaid at some date in the future out of rates. Ignoring the need for such a stadium, can Te Kuiti afford this?, can you afford this?
Waitomo District Council has one of the highest rates of any council in New Zealand, can we afford this?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
