Greyhound fashion fundraiser for Greyhounds as Pets charity

Kat from Waimairi Beach

This is a fundraiser for Greyhounds as Pets. Join us for an afternoon of greyhound fashion including a prize draw and silent auction. Greyhounds have thin skin and a single layer of fur. They need clothing. Adopted greyhounds will be strutting the catwalk to model the functional and fashionable clothes that their families have chosen for them.

Advance purchase $15 for adults and $10 for children under 13. (At the door, prices will be $20 and $15). Each entry receives one ticket for the prize draw; additional raffle tickets can be purchased at the venue. Silent auction items will be available for a minimum bid of $50.

The Sixty6 is the nightclub venue attached to the Christchurch Casino. This event is wheelchair accessible - just go into the main entrance of the casino and ask the staff to use the elevator.

***Only the greyhound models are allowed into the venue; please come, but leave your dog at home***

This fundraiser is being organised by Kathleen Crisley from The Balanced Dog, who provides care for dogs using massage, acupressure, laser, trigger point and food therapies.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here: www.balanceddog.co.nz...

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

2025 has been massive. The Luxon-led Government's attacks on workers, on Te Tiriti, on pay equity, on educators, on health workers, and on the public service, have been relentless.

Leslie from Avonside - Dallington

But despite everything thrown at working people, we've also seen some massive wins. We've fought back together with strike action. We've unified with days of action. We have focused on what matters. Make no mistake, 2026 will be wild, and we are ready for it! Source - New Zealand Council of Trade Unions
