Greg Hyland from Wellington West Community Patrol (WWCP / Western Patrol)

Are you a fundraising guru or do you have lots of cool ideas? Let's talk volunteer community group funding. Lots of chocolate on offer as a reward :) Call Greg on 021473499 or email westernpatrol@gmail.com

We need Everyone's Ideas and Support so we can raise lots of funds to keep operating your local Wgtn West Community Patrol group, and so we can do even more for you. We have been busy doing Crime Prevention Patrols around the Western Suburbs and Wgtn City for the last 3 years and a lot this year. We are also local resource for Civil Emergencies - please help us to help you.

Our Patrol group need lots of Fundraising Ideas to help fund our Vehicle fuel, Patrol gear, vehicle maintenance and people training. We are looking at the Pub Charities, Funding Trusts, professional fundraisers etc and need to know what else works. Can you help?

Did you know that there are 20 x volunteer Community Patrol groups in Wgtn alone as part of Community Patrols NZ (CPNZ) - cool eh? Just Google Community Patrols for news items about our work.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
