Real NZ survey: Rural New Zealand feels forgotten as leaders vie for city votes

Reporter Sunday Star Times

Digging down into individual communities, our Sunday Star-Times-Neighbourly survey of more than 2000 New Zealanders reveals how city, provincial town and country voters' concerns differ in the election lead-up. It's not quite the rust-belt of the USA – but there is a strip of provincial New Zealand weaving its way up the country, looping around the big cities and wealthier luish green dairy country to take in provincial towns like Invercargill, Greymouth, Motueka, Palmerston North, Dannevirke, Hastings, Gisborne and, up noth, Whangarei and Kaitaia, and the farming districts that keep those towns alive.

Poll: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

🎉 Exciting news for Southland! We’re getting a brand new museum – the Te Unua Museum of Southland!

⏳ The not-so-great news? It’s still a little way off. The Invercargill City Council has decided to wait until the museum is fully finished in late 2027 before opening, instead of opening parts early at extra cost.

We want to hear from you: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages, even if it costs more, or is waiting for the full experience the better option?
