The planned deviation for Kaikoura has raised the ire of many residents and some have raised concerns that the deviation would mean Kaikoura would miss out entirely on a much-need heavy traffic bypass. Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
