Mother's plea to parents to make the school drop-off safer
A mother worried about the safety of children around traffic-congested school gates is urging parents to scooter or walk instead.
Mother-of-two Joanna Redmond has witnessed a number of "near misses" involving children and cars outside the gates at Witherlea School in Blenheim.
She is appealing for parents to park further away from the gridlocked area outside the Weld Street entrance before a child is hurt.
