CAT HIT AND RUN - GUY ROAD MOSGIEL - SUN 7 MAY

Wendy from Mosgiel-Taieri

So my neighbour sadly lost her cat today, early pm. Someone hit; and carried on, literally leaving it for dead.
A kind lady stopped and put her on the side of the road; and came to tell me (I admit I DID heave a sigh of relief when I knew it wasn't our cat); and so I had to ring my neighbour at work and break the news to her.
Poor puss was 17yo; but didn't deserve to go in such a tragic way.
So to the cowardly person who took the life of a very much loved family pet: show a bit of compassion and respect in future... and bloody well slow down. Guy Road is NOT a drag strip... it's a road with families and pets.
KEEP OUR ROAD SAFE!!!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
