Quarterhorse X, 16 yo gelding, 15.3 HH approx. Lovely gentle nature chestnut white blaze

Leda from Loburn

We have owned Griffen for nine years

Reason for selling: owner at Uni now

16 years old chestnut gelding, white blaze

15.3 HH approx.

Excellent second horse; Griffen needs a rider who knows what he/she is doing. Griffen tend to be your classic lazy ginger. He has a lovely gentle nature, very easy to handle. No issues floating, shoeing, teeth etc. He has no issue holding weight. Gets along with any other horse.

Fantastic riding alone, great on the road and on the beach.

Griffen does tend to be on the forehand. Griffen gets a little excited riding in a large group, throws in the occasional buck, nothing too bad. He might have grown out of that. He was in a group with three horses last week and was fine.

Griffen has been a great horse for Pony Club. My daughter went to Okuku Pony Club for a few years.

Griffen has been to several One Day Events, and a few Shows. My daughter is not competitive but would always end up with a good result.

Griffen has been out of work for three years now. My daughter has been riding him every now and then and Griffen was always nice to ride. He will be dearly missed.

He has just been out for training in the Easter Holidays.

We owned Griffen for nine years now and he has never had a health issue. No sore back. His teeth have been done regularly.

Griffen would make an ideal farm horse, hacking/trekking horse or casual Pony Club horse. Quarter horse X, but never been raced.

His gear will be for sale separately.

Price: $2,500

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
