International Women's Hockey comes to Waimakariri

The Black Sticks Women Hockey team is coming to Rangiora at the end of March for two test matches against USA. This will be the first time a senior NZ national sports team will play a test match in North Canterbury. Ranked 5th and 6th in the world these matches will be high quality, fast paced, action packed spectacles of elite sport that you will not see again in this area for several years (if at all!)

This event is jointly organised by Canterbury Hockey and the North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust with support from NZ Hockey. Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
