Building energy efficiency & reducing energy demand: Why?
Friday 24th February
Where: Seminar Room, Centre for Sustainability, 563 Castle St.
When: 12.00-1.00pm
The Otago Energy Research Centre (OERC) & the Centre for Sustainability are joint hosting a guest speaker on Friday 24th February 2017 12.00-1.00pm in the Seminar Room, Centre for Sustainability, 563 Castle St.
The presentation will provide a historic perspective on the different drivers for energy demand reduction and energy efficiency in the UK residential stock. What empirical evidence do we have about what has happened and why? How will the drivers change in the future and what impact will this have on technologies, their deployment and the research required to support a future low carbon energy system. Examples of the role that energy epidemiology can play in the deployment of a future energy system will be presented.
The joint Otago Energy Research Centre (OERC) and Centre for Sustainability seminar will be presented by Professor Tadj Oreszczyn, Director of The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER), Director of the RCUK Centre for Energy Epidemiology (CEE) and Professor of Energy and Environment at the UCL Energy Institute, University College London

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
