Masterton District Council Civic and Youth Awards are open for nominations. Nominations close 4.00pm Friday 2 December and should be addressed to Sandra Spence PO Box 444 Masterton. This year we have made it easy, you can nominate online or call into the council offices in the old ANZ building on Queen Street or visit the Masterton Library for the guidelines and nomination form.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Roller

Has anybody got a concrete or water filled hand roller that they don't need anymore. I'm putting down a new lawn and need it to compact the dirt down.
