The Warehouse Queenstown

In 1982, Sir Stephen Tindall founded The Warehouse with a vision of revolutionising retail in New Zealand. The famous ‘Red Sheds’ have since become iconic institutions and the introduction of Warehouse Stationery stores further changed the landscape for Kiwi shoppers. Two years ago, The Warehouse Group set about to reshape the company, with a clear growth strategy leading to acquisitions of Noel Leeming, Torpedo 7 and other leading companies in the New Zealand retail sector.

Despite this growth, The Warehouse Group remains true to Sir Stephen’s dream of building a 100 year business which helps New Zealanders flourish. Our commitment to this country sees us put our customers, our people, our communities and the environment at the core of what we do – it’s always been part of our DNA. We believe that healthy societies need healthy businesses, and vice versa.

We aim to always support our communities, through charitable events, initiatives and much more. Our commitment to the environment is clear in the programmes we have developed to measure and minimise our carbon footprints and to increase our companies’ recycling.

The Warehouse Group is also an incredible place to work because we believe retail is more than just a job. We do everything we can to support our Team Members in building successful careers and we are working with industry bodies and universities to change the way people think about working in retail.

With 92 Warehouse stores, 77 Noel Leeming stores, 64 Warehouse Stationery stores and several online businesses, we are proud of our progress and we know The Warehouse Group will continue to make a huge difference to New Zealand long into the future.
